You have crazy ideas for a new website or application? Then you know there is a lot involved in turning those ideas into reality. To make your digital project a success, it is important to collaborate with a partner who takes an organized approach. At Tailr, we have a proven project approach that we always use to take a structured approach to every digital project. Wondering how we make every project a success? Then keep reading!
The kick-off: A solid base for every project
Every project at Tailr starts with a kick-off meeting. During this meeting, we make concrete agreements on the project's scope, budget and timing. How and who will manage the project is also determined. Communication is key during every project, and good agreements make good friends!
At the end of the kick-off, we have:
A detailed project plan with a clear scope, planning and budget
A clear division of responsibilities
A good overview of the agreements made between all stakeholders and how to follow-up and reporting will take place
Workshops: Why do we do what we do?
At Tailr, we don't start your digital project right away. Before we start developing your new custom website or application, we first make sure that all your needs have been identified. We make sure that your new website or application, fits the company's strategy and the needs of your customers.
We do this by means of several workshops. During those workshops, we map out the following:
What is the company's strategy and what goals are they pursuing?
Who is the target audience and how can we reach them?
How will we measure and report the goals?
After these workshops, we have a clear overview of what is needed to make this project a success. We apply the MoSCoW principle here:
Must haves: The things that are essential for the project to succeed
Should haves: Elements that are desired and will be implemented where possible
Could haves: Elements that could be interesting, but will only be included if time and budget allow it
Won't haves: These elements are not in the scope of this project, but could potentially be included in a new project later.
With this strategic plan, Tailr sets to work to shape the digital project.
UX, design & analysis Bringing your project alive
Based on the digital strategy, defined during the workshops, we determine the structure of the website, the pages needed and how the content should appear on those pages.
Using wireframes - a visual tool in new website development - we draw out the structure of the various elements the website or app should contain. In these wireframes, it becomes visually clear which elements are needed and where they should be.
We also use a functional analysis document, which explains the functionalities of all the different elements. This ensures that your website or application will not only look beautiful, but that everything will also functionally do what it needs to do.
Development: From strategy to result
Our approach
At Tailr, we work through a mix of the classic waterfall method and the Agile/SCRUM system. Through two-week sprints, we work towards a Minimum Viable Product or MVP.
Why do we work this way? This way of working gives us the flexibility to respond quickly to changes during the project. Every fortnight, we deliver something that can be tested immediately. This way, testing also happens during the project and not at the very end. This gives us the opportunity to make timely adjustments where necessary.
All our work is thoroughly documented in Confluence. This allows us to closely monitor progress and share knowledge in a timely manner.
Delivery: Your web application ready for use!
After extensively testing the website, we put the final touches to it. For example, we make sure your web analytics is up to scratch with:
A structured Google Tag Manager container that measures the events you need to track your progress.
A correctly set up Analytics tool of your choice (Google Analytics 4, Adobe Analytics, Matomo, etc.)
Optionally a visual representation of your digital strategy in Looker Studio
Your new website is now completely ready for use.
Off course it is not over ! After delivery of the MVP we suggest 2 options at Tailr :
We keep on developing (continuous or in project-mode)
We set up a support arragment/contract to make sure there is capacity for questions after the GO-LIVE. We can imagine that you want to see how well your MVP does at first
Whatever you choose, you can still count on Tailr after delivery.
