Full Stack Europe in general
In general, we can say that our colleagues were very enthusiastic about the event. Many conferences tend to focus on a single technology, but Full Stack Europe has a much broader scope. Our developers immersed themselves in CSS, database optimizations, performance, team optimizations, messaging, security... in other words: the full stack!
First and foremost, this diverse mix made it a very interesting conference. All talks were presented on one stage in sessions of 30 minutes each. This setup worked well, as it kept everyone engaged. Additionally, there were lightning talks of 10-15 minutes each, providing an interesting variation. To top it off, the event took place at a beautiful venue - Hilton Antwerp Old Town - with delicious food. What more could you ask for?
Top 5 most interesting talks according to our developers
Our developers were very enthusiastic about the event, but five talks stood out.
1. Fluent Animation with View Transition API
Our experts eagerly looked into the future during this talk. They learned that exciting times are ahead in the Chrome browser. Chrome has a new transition API that allows you to create cool animations and accompanying transitions. These rich animations can even be displayed across different web pages.
2. Harnessing the Power of JavaScript Proxies
During this live coding session, our developers delved into creating a front-end validation framework. They learned in a clear manner about the latest possibilities of JavaScript proxies. An additional bonus was the effective way in which the talk was delivered.
3. Building an Indie Software Company Today
In this session, the founder of transistor.fm shared the life story of his company. Establishing smaller IT companies or projects in today's market is not easy. The talk was incredibly inspiring as it provided a hands-on roadmap for starting such ventures today.
4. Rethinking Desktop Applications with Progressive Web Apps
According to our colleagues, this was the best PWA talk they had ever attended. The session started from an existing application and detailed how to build a Progressive Web App from scratch. The result was a PWA that behaved like an application but was entirely made in Web Technology.
5. Things Every Developer Must Know About Database Indexing
This session was attended by our developers with mixed feelings: Database Indexing is not the most exciting topic. However, this was compensated by the incredibly engaging presentation. Plus, the content was easy to follow yet very detailed. Our experts now understand better than ever what happens to indexes during the execution of Database Queries. From now on, they will achieve even higher performance scores with their websites!
Conclusion
Full Stack Europe was an incredibly engaging two-day conference. According to our colleagues, there is also a great social aspect:
"I have been to many conferences, but at Full Stack, everyone starts talking to everyone. It's a great way to get to know peers in the industry better!"
There is no doubt that we will participate again next year. In the meantime, do you want to benefit from all the new learnings our developers have acquired? You can! Contact us and let us know which projects we can realize for you.
